1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Northern Drive Car Rental services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Rental Requirements

2.1 Driver Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Northern Drive, you must:

• Be at least 21 years of age (25 years for luxury vehicles)
• Possess a valid driver's license for at least 2 years
• Provide a valid credit card in the renter's name
• Present valid government-issued photo identification
• Meet all insurance requirements as specified in your rental agreement

2.2 International Drivers

International drivers must present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) along with their original driver's license. All documents must be current and in good standing.

3. Rental Terms and Conditions

3.1 Vehicle Use

Rental vehicles may only be used for lawful purposes. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

• Using the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Subletting or allowing unauthorized persons to drive
• Using the vehicle for racing, off-road driving, or any commercial purposes without prior approval
• Transporting illegal substances or materials
• Smoking or vaping in the vehicle
• Exceeding the vehicle's passenger or cargo capacity

3.2 Geographic Restrictions

Unless otherwise specified, vehicles may be driven within Canada and the United States. Cross-border travel requires advance notification and additional documentation. Travel to Mexico or other countries is prohibited without explicit written consent.

3.3 Mileage and Fuel

Most rentals include unlimited mileage within the permitted geographic area. Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup, or fuel charges will apply at current market rates plus a service fee.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Rental Rates

Rental rates are subject to change without notice. The rate in effect at the time of reservation confirmation will be honored. All rates are quoted in Canadian dollars and include applicable taxes unless otherwise specified.

4.2 Additional Charges

Additional charges may include but are not limited to:

1. Additional driver fees
2. Under-age driver surcharges
3. Equipment rentals (GPS, child seats, etc.)
4. Cleaning fees for excessive dirt or odors
5. Late return penalties
6. Traffic violations and associated administrative fees

4.3 Security Deposit

A security deposit will be authorized on your credit card at the time of rental. The amount varies by vehicle class and rental duration. This hold will be released upon satisfactory return of the vehicle.

5. Insurance and Liability

5.1 Insurance Coverage

All Northern Drive rental vehicles include basic liability insurance as required by law. Additional coverage options are available and recommended, including:

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
• Theft Protection
• Personal Accident Insurance
• Personal Effects Coverage

5.2 Renter Responsibility

You are responsible for all damage to or loss of the vehicle during the rental period, regardless of fault or cause, unless covered by purchased protection products. This includes damage from weather, theft, vandalism, and collision.

6. Reservations and Cancellations

6.1 Reservation Policy

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a valid credit card and verification of driver eligibility. We reserve the right to substitute vehicles of equal or greater value if the reserved class is unavailable.

6.2 Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled pickup time incur no penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to one day's rental charge.

6.3 Modification Policy

Reservations may be modified subject to availability and rate changes. Extensions during the rental period are permitted with advance notice and credit card authorization for additional charges.

7. Vehicle Return

7.1 Return Requirements

Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location during business hours unless other arrangements have been made. Late returns may incur additional daily charges and fees.

7.2 After-Hours Returns

After-hours returns are permitted at designated locations with prior arrangement. You remain responsible for the vehicle until it has been inspected and accepted by our staff during business hours.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with applicable privacy laws including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

9. Dispute Resolution

9.1 Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

9.2 Dispute Process

We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration or mediation as provided under British Columbia law.

10. Changes to Terms

Northern Drive reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through our website and, where possible, directly to affected customers. Continued use of our services after changes constitute acceptance of the modified terms.
